Covid-19 updates in Belgium:
As part of the latest Belgian government health measures, wearing a mask is mandatory both indoors and outdoors. This measure is in addition to the mandatory presentation of the "Covid Safe Ticket" already in place. It is a proof of complete vaccination, of a negative PCR test or of a certification of recovery. The “Covid Safe Ticket” and the mask are therefore mandatory for the entire duration of our event.
The AIVP accepts no responsibility for changes in local health and safety requirements. It is the responsibility of the participants to check with local authorities. Please check travel protocols and guidance before traveling.
You are not a Belgian resident and you are planning to stay for more than 48 hours in Belgium?
The following rules apply when you are in Belgium:
-
You have to fill in the Passenger Location Form (PLF) within 6 months before your arrival in Belgium, even if you are fully vaccinated. The PLF must be filled in by anyone travelling directly or indirectly to Belgium.
-
Check the colour code of your country and/or whether it is listed as a very high-risk country.
-
Check which COVID certificate you have.

The time has come to meet in person again! Finally, after 2 years marked by covid restrictions, numerous video calls, home office and travel limitations, AIVP members will have again an opportunity to meet in person. On the 25th and 26th of November, a new edition of the Port & City Days and the General Assembly will take place in Brussels, Belgium. In cooperation with the Port Authority and the Municipality, we have programmed a rich event, both for the internal functioning of our organisation and the content programme.
This meeting will mark the end of the successful 6 years presidency of Mr. Philippe Matthis and the start of a new era in AIVP, with a new president. We will have an opportunity to reflect on the hard past months and present the plans for the future of our organisation.
During the two days of the Port & City Days by AIVP we will host several keynote speeches and roundtables on the different key topics relevant for the present and future of port cities worldwide. We will discuss about main issues related to the AIVP Agenda 2030, such as climate change adaptation, protection of biodiversity, the global challenge of having quality food for all, the restart of cruises and tourism after covid-19 or blue economy and innovation ecosystems in port cities.
A major highlight will be the high-level political roundtable of the first day, to discuss the recent policy package “Fit for 55” presented by the EU. This session, with the confirmed presence of Mr. Edouard Philippe (Mayor of Le Havre and former Prime Minister of France) will have a special focus on the energy transition in the maritime sector and urban energy demands. We will also debate on the consequences of the EU Green Deal and its repercussions on the global context.
See you in Brussels!
